Y Sports Leagues provide an introductory, fun experience for children ages 3-18 years old. We're always in need of Volunteer Coaches to help teach sportsmanship, teamwork & specific skills to the kids! No experience necessary, we will provide you with practice plans. Volunteers must be 14 or older. We recommend that teenagers pair up with a friend to co-coach a team. Leaders' Club Senior Leaders will act as role models to both the Leader and Junior Leader Clubs. This involves working directly with the Club Advisor for various responsibilities, advising leaders, and ensuring a safe and positive environment for teens in Leaders' Club. Court-ordered community service volunteers are accepted on a limited basis at the Chester Y. All requests may not be accommodated. Please complete the application process well in advance of the deadline for your hours. This is also recommended for individuals who wish to show volunteer hours prior to court. We are not able to accommodate last minute requests due to limited staff. All volunteers must complete a background check and a volunteer orientation prior to volunteering.

In search of volunteers who enjoy the water and are able to assist our lead swim instructors with introductory lessons for 2nd graders in the Chester area. The Chester Family YMCA has partnered with Chesterfield County Public Schools to offer unpaid internships for high school students to gain experience in a work-based learning environment. Please speak with your guidance counselor prior to applying.
